A Very Poplar Run

A Very Poplar Run on the Boardman Tree Farm

October 26, 2013

A Very Poplar Run is a fundraiser for Hermiston Agape House. Agape House is a Christian outreach whose mission is to provide basic services to those in need in Hermiston and surrounding communities.

The Boardman Tree Farm is 25,000 acres of hybrid poplar trees owned by the GreenWood Tree Farm Fund and operated by GreenWood Resources. It’s located in Morrow county Oregon along Interstate 84. The poplars also known as Pacific Albus range in age from 1 to 14 years old are neatly planted in rows and drip irrigated.

Beginning at the Upper Columbia Mill the course will loop through various ages of trees using the tree rows and connecting roads. The running surface is a mixture of packed soils and smooth dirt roads.

"A Very Poplar Run" is featured in Runner's World as the December 2012 Rave Run.

Note the new date for 2013 - The race is being moved earlier by a month to take advantage of warmer weather and to view the beauty of having the leaves still on the trees. We are also adding a 15K so that you can enjoy the tree farm longer!
